Due to a recent, sudden, and rather extreme increase in pricing from one of our control panel software vendors (cPanel) and after much consideration on our end, we have had no choice but to make changes to our Linux Reseller Hosting Plans and promotions accordingly.
Previously, we were able to house an unlimited number of cPanel accounts per server and not impose hard account-level limits on our Resellers.
The new cPanel licensing limits each server as a whole to just 100 cPanel accounts, with an additional charge per each cPanel account on the server over the initial 100 accounts.
As the new pricing structure drastically reduces cost effectiveness for reseller hosting providers, this forces many providers to adjust their reseller offerings and even change their control panel software vendors.
What is changing?
For the foreseeable future, we will continue to provider our Resellers with the cPanel control panel software; however, we have made changes to all plans in response to the price structure changes by cPanel, better position ourselves in the market, and to better serve you.
The default amount of cPanel accounts a reseller account can create will now be adjusted to the following:
Reseller Startup – 10 cPanel accounts
Reseller Standard – 20 cPanel accounts
Reseller Advanced – 30 cPanel accounts
Reseller Premium – 50 cPanel accounts
Reseller ProSeller – 100 cPanel accounts
Resellers will have the opportunity to purchase additional cPanel account credits for their reseller account in sets of 5, 10, and 50.
This change will be effective immediately for new reseller plans/accounts and take effect September 1, 2019 for existing reseller plans/accounts.
Existing Resellers will have their invoices adjusted accordingly following an audit which will be performed on each Reseller’s account, calculating the amount of sub-accounts owned the Reseller. At which time, resellers will be invoiced for the cPanel account credits for any cPanel accounts over their hosting plan limit.
Resellers will have the opportunity to terminate any unused or suspended accounts in order to decrease the amount of sub-accounts owned by their reseller account.
While we again have no immediate plans to change the control panel software we offer to our Resellers, we are testing other software and even considering making contributions to open source alternatives. If a comparable solution arises and we decide to make the switch, we will provide our Resellers with advance notice.
We would like to take a moment to sincerely thank our clients for their patience and understanding regarding these changes.
We would also like to thank those that have stuck with us all these years and those that plan to continue to do so.
We know many of our clients will still have questions or even be confused by this change, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
